The Stands is a community for women’s sports fans. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect and what we do with it.
Your account.Sign in with Google and we store your email address and name. Sign in with a mobile number and we store the number instead — no email. Either way we store the profile you build here: handle, badge clubs, avatar choices, bio, and any social handles you add. We never see your Google password, and login codes are stored hashed and deleted the moment they’re used.
What you post.Posts, comments, images, votes, score predictions, Section memberships and the accounts you follow are stored so the product works. Most of it is visible to other users — that’s the point. If you turn on push notifications we store the browser subscription needed to send them.
Usage basics.We log lightweight, first-party events (like page views and share clicks) to understand what’s working. Our hosting provider (Vercel) collects standard analytics and performance data, and we use PostHog for product analytics — which pages get used, where people get stuck. Those events are tied to your account once you’re signed in.
After a match we post a short AI-written summary of what the room talked about. To write it, excerpts of the publicchat from that match are sent to Anthropic’s API. Nothing private goes with them, and the messages aren’t used to train anyone’s model — but your public words do leave our servers to produce it, so you should know.
We don’t sell your data. We don’t run third-party ad trackers. We don’t use your content to train AI models.
Data is stored with our infrastructure providers in the United States: Vercel for hosting, Neon for the database, PostHog for product analytics, Resend for email and (once it’s switched on) Twilio for text messages. Match schedules, scores, rosters and standings come from public sports data sources.
One cookie: the session that keeps you signed in. Our analytics identifier is nota cookie — it’s a random id kept in your browser’s local storage so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one. No cross-site tracking, and no third-party ad cookies at all.
Want your account and content gone? Email a@sevensevensix.com from the address you signed in with and we’ll delete it.
A club’s official account is run by people we’ve designated as its staff. When one of them publishes as the club, we record which person did it — visible to us, not to other fans. Their title, if the club sets one, is shown publicly on their own posts in that club’s Sections.
The Stands is in alpha, so this policy may evolve. Material changes will be posted here with a new date up top.
